If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal

As a believer in Rush Limbaugh's concept of "rugged individualism", I condemn the idea of bashing those who are vilified for doing productive work for a living.
ReplyDeleteSome refutations and counter points. All from a conservative point of view:
" Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax;
Joe Legal now has $31,231.00. "
Realize the massive, unnecessary, and punitive payroll tax situation, which encourages such "under the table" situations: also common with native-born workers. The tax burden must be reduced a lot to stop encouraging this.
"Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage...."
The solution is to cut the handouts to the able bodied workers. Most of those getting this aid are native-born. Do you want to solve even more of the problem by deporting them first?
" Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family. "
You never explained this one...
"Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay."
The illegal does pay a lot for them through different sales and usage taxes. However, the situation which forces him underground for the "crime" of wanting to work at a job he is good at also means he won't pay as many taxes as he wold otherwise.
We need reforms:
1) If people come here to work, let them in. It is outrageous to claim they steal jobs, when these people earn them by being better at them.
2) We need welfare reform. Most of those mooching off welfare that you describe in your instances happen to be native-born.
Just what part of "illegal" makes no sense to you?
ReplyDeleteI came here in 1969 on a legal visitor's visa, married an American with the intent of applying for my visa. Got kicked out of the country the morning after our wedding because of not having a legal Alien visa. I had to go through all the hoops to get my papers. That was then.
Now, I totally agree with a system that allows them in with temporary worker visa which can be furthered after 5 years of being a productive resident. Of course, the borders need to be closed first. I am against any type of Amnesty.
