KEEP AMERICA SAFE

Dear Fellow Member of Keep America Safe:

This morning, news broke that President Obama's advisers are going to recommend military tribunals for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. We hope this story is accurate, but we are concerned by reports that this will be part of a deal to close Guantanamo Bay and bring terrorists onto US soil. Guantanamo Bay is a safe, secure, humane facility where terrorists can and should be held. We are happy that President Obama seems to be hearing your voice, but we continue to call on the President to reverse his decision to close the facility.

For months, we have been tracking the story that Attorney General Eric Holder is stonewalling Congress and refusing to disclose key information about DOJ attorneys who represented terrorists. On Tuesday, we released our newest video, "Who Are The Al Qaeda 7?" Finally, in response to pressure from the public and concerned citizens like yourself, DOJ confirmed the identities of the nine lawyers in the Justice Department who worked for terrorists. However, the Justice Department still refuses to disclose whether any of these lawyers are working on detainee issues. Tom Joscelyn, one of our Keep America Safe experts will be writing more about the terrorists these lawyers represented in coming days. His first installment is below.

In other news, reports surfaced this week that a former Guantanamo detainee is leading battles in Afghanistan. This is a glaring example of why we need Guantanamo and exposes Counterterrorism Adviser John Brennan's comments about recidivism as dangerously misguided.

Please take the time to read the noteworthy stories from the week below -- and don't forget to visit KeepAmericaSafe.com throughout the week for breaking news. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
The Keep America Safe Team
P.S. Make sure to catch Bill Kristol on Fox News Sunday this weekend.
